Lucrecia R. Martinez has been involved in sports and fitness since the young age of 13. She was highly involved in competitive sports and strength training throughout middle school and high school. In 2001, she suffered an injury that not only ended her basketball career but cost her a scholarship to UC Davis. Determined to make a difference in people’s lives, she became a personal trainer in 2003. In 2005, she became a part of the team at IPM and has been involved in all areas of the clinic. She has a deep and personal understanding of the correlation between injury, pain and suffering loss. She is highly knowledgeable about the workers‘ compensation system and the patient’s rights and benefits. Lucrecia uses her empathetic approach to help those in pain find the balance of using exercise to get stronger but also gain control of their life. She specializes in using active modalities to help patients learn how to manage their pain 100% independently. Over time, she has obtained the following credentials and certifications: Corrective Exercise Specialist, Medical Exercise Specialist and Rock Tape Provider. Lucrecia currently spends the majority of her time in the physical rehabilitation aspect of our functional restoration program. Lucrecia is married with 2 beautiful children and during her free time enjoys watching her children play competitive soccer, futsal, and indoor soccer. She spends lots of time volunteering in the classroom and as a team manager for her children’s sports teams.
